President, The College of Saint Rose<\/strong>
\nAlbany, NY<\/p>\n

Marcia J. White was appointed president of The College of Saint Rose in August 2021 after serving as its interim president since July 2020.<\/p>\n

In academic year 2020-2021 \u2013 the 100th anniversary of Saint Rose \u2013 President White raised $5.7 million, presided over growth in graduate enrollment, and developed a multi-year financial plan, which includes increasing fundraising revenue and reducing debt service. Her presidency to date has included the creation of a new strategic plan and embarking on \u201cTo the Second Century: The Campaign for The College of Saint Rose,\u201d a $50 million fundraising effort that will continue into 2025. In 2021, White was named to the Albany Business Review\u2019s Power 50 List for her work at the College.<\/p>\n

Just prior to her arrival at Saint Rose, White was president of Marcia White Consulting, LLC. During the 1990s, while she served as press secretary to the majority in the New York State Senate, White, who began her career as a registered nurse, came to Saint Rose to finish her bachelor\u2019s degree in public communications.<\/p>\n

After leaving the Senate majority role, she led the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) as president and executive director and is widely credited for having led a financial and artistic transformation that ensured SPAC\u2019s continuation as a preeminent cultural institution and major economic driver in the Capital Region.<\/p>\n

Beyond her identity as a Saint Rose alum, White has always been a staunch supporter of the College. Prior to being named interim president, she served for 18 years on the Saint Rose Board of Trustees and chaired its trustee affairs and governance committees. She was honored in 2016 as the recipient of Saint Rose\u2019s \u201cA Community of Excellence\u201d award for her service and contributions to the College and the Capital Region.<\/p>\n

White is a member of the New York State Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities\u2019 Alumni Hall of Distinction.<\/p>\n

She has served on the boards of several Capital Region nonprofit organizations, including the Mohawk-Hudson United Way; Siena College Creative Arts Committee; the Community Advisory Board, St. Peter\u2019s Hospice of Rensselaer County; Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau; the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce; the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce; the Saratoga Springs Commission on the Arts, and Hearst Corp.\u2019s Women@Work.<\/p>\n

She was honored with the \u201cWoman in the News Award\u201d from the Women\u2019s Press Club of New York State; New York State Senate\u2019s Woman of Distinction Award; Capital Region Chamber\u2019s Woman of Excellence Award; Capital District Business Review\u2019s Women Who Mean Business Award, and Saratoga Arts \u201cCommunity Arts Leadership\u201d Award.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
